About Our Method

Located in Greenfield Hill, Fairfield, L Studio offers Classical Pilates with a personalized approach designed to best achieve each client's unique fitness goals. We use the principles embedded in Joseph Pilates’ work in order to help our clients live their best lives. This includes Aging Well — increase and help maintain overall strength and joint mobility to help move, play and live pain free; Rehabilitation — gain strength and stability post injury and prevention of future injuries; Improve Athletic Performance — create balance within the body, build deeper core strength, increase rotation and gain an edge over the competition.

While we specialize in private sessions in studio, we also strive to accommodate our client’s needs and comfort levels. If you decide not to visit us in studio, we also offer virtual Mat Pilates sessions or we can come to you with a mat, props and small Pilates equipment. Regardless of the setting, our one-on-one training is always personalized to achieve your fitness goals.

Centering

All the work starts from and is sustained through the Center; Joseph Pilates called this center your “Powerhouse.”

Concentration

The work must be executed with focus and concentration; the mind guides the body.

Control

When the work is done from the center and executed with full concentration, the body is in complete control of the movement.

Precision

All exercises have a clear structure, a precise form and a specific goal; attention to even the smallest detail is imperative.

Breath

The work is done with the rhythm of breath, focusing on the exhalation to deepen the powerhouse connection.

Flow

The system is a flowing succession of exercises complete with transitions to achieve maximum engagement with minimum movement.
